This week we attended B2B Marketing Virtual (usually B2B Marketing Expo at ExCel in London) – a first virtual exhibition for us. It was strange and unfamiliar trying to engage people in this way as you can’t exactly catch their eye as they’re passing your stand or lure them over with your charms (looking at you Chris Pitt, James Cooper, Nathan Tetley 😉).
It will always be very difficult for a virtual show to yield the same results as a face to face one so our expectations will naturally be different, but whatever the outcome in the next few month, I’d like to take my hat off to the B2B Marketing Expo team for going into the unknown and creating a space for marketers to come together in this really difficult year. Such a massive learning curve and so many ‘firsts’ for everyone so well done.
We gave two talks at the event which you can find below.
3 things that ACTUALLY matter right now in search marketing
In this presentation, SEO Specialist and Managing Director Chris Pitt addresses three of main areas marketers should be focusing on to get through the next 6-12 months. These are:
- Share of search and where your competitors have the edge
- Dominating visibility through a multi-platform presence
- Using search trends to get out of the search echo chamber
Using free tools to identify and fix website content
In this practical tutorial, SEO Specialist and Head of Services at Vertical Leap, Lee Wilson, shows you how to use a range of tools (including SEMRush, Google Search, Google Analytics and Google Search Console) to assess how your content is performing, understand where your opportunities are, and fill gaps in your content portfolio where your competitors are getting traction. You’ll learn how to:
- Identify content gaps and opportunities
- Identify phrases your competitors are appearing for that you are not
- Identify old content which should be updated
